College Democrats of Wisconsin is the student branch of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin and a state federation of College Democrats of America. Every year, our 14 chapters work hard to elect Democratic candidates, promote progressive policies, and increase student participation in the electoral process. College Democrats of Wisconsin alumni have gone on to become key players in statewide and national politics, including Congressman Mark Pocan (D-WI) and former Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate. In 2008 and 2012, College Democrats were instrumental in getting out the Wisconsin student vote to elect President Barack Obama.
We are College Democrats because we believe every young Wisconsinite deserves the chance at an affordable, world-class education. We believe women deserve equal pay for equal work and the right to make their own healthcare decisions. We believe LGBT Wisconsinites should have the freedom to marry the person they love. We support unions and the middle class families who rely on them to secure fair wages. We believe every Wisconsinite deserves a fair shot at success, regardless of race, class, religion, gender, disability, sexual orientation or gender identity.
