WI Coordinated Campaign Deputy Operations Director

Overview

The 2018 Wisconsin Democratic Coordinated Campaign is seeking a highly motivated, passionate and talented Deputy Operations Director for our statewide organizing program. The Deputy Operations Director will report directly to the Coordinated Campaign Operations Director. The WI Coordinated Campaign will play a critical role in re-electing Senator Tammy Baldwin and Democrats down-ticket.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day field operations, including but not limited to supply procurement and tracking, office lease tracking, office utility management, and regional budget tracking
  • Assist DPW Compliance and Operations Manager in new hire and payroll processing
  • Collaborate with Field staff to address operations issues and needs in a timely manner
  • Work with outside vendors (printer, phone, internet, landlord, etc)
  • Work with Operations Director and GOTV Director to execute GOTV operations
  • Other Coordinated Campaign assignments or tasks as directed by the Operations Director and Coordinated Campaign Director

Skills & Qualifications:

  • At least one cycle of campaign experience or equivalent logistical experience
  • Exceptionally well organized with intense attention to detail
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with people from many backgrounds
  • Flexible, adaptable and solutions-oriented
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure
  • Knowledge of Google suite tools
  • Ability to work long and irregular hours in a fast paced, metrics-driven work environment
  • Commitment to electing all Democrats on the ballot

WI Coordinated Campaign – GOTV Director

Overview

The 2018 Wisconsin Democratic Coordinated Campaign is seeking a highly motivated, passionate and talented Get Out the Vote (GOTV) Director. The WI Coordinated Campaign will play a critical role in re-electing Senator Tammy Baldwin and Democrats down-ticket. The GOTV Director will report directly to the Coordinated Campaign Director and coordinate the department’s work in conjunction with the field, data, and operations departments for execution of our GOTV Program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the Wisconsin Coordinated Campaign’s GOTV Plan
  • Collaborate with field, data, operations, and voter protection department heads
  • Support and train field staff and volunteers on GOTV program and best practices
  • Create and implement GOTV reporting standards and procedures with the Data Director
  • Secure and prepare GOTV staging locations
  • Oversee the planning and execution of GOTV packets for distribution to the state
  • Communicate with county party leadership and other political outreach as necessary
  • Work with other departments to maximize voter contact and turnout

Skills & Qualifications:

  • At least two cycles of campaign organizing experience, with leadership and management experience highly preferred
  • Exceptionally well organized with intense attention to detail
  • Excellent written and communications skills
  • Experience managing volunteers
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively

WI Coordinated Campaign - Voter Protection Director

Overview

The 2018 Wisconsin Democratic Coordinated Campaign is seeking a highly motivated, passionate and talented Voter Protection Director. The WI Coordinated Campaign will play a critical role in re-electing Senator Tammy Baldwin and Democrats down-ticket. The Voter Protection Director (VPD) will report directly to the Coordinated Campaign Director and coordinate the department’s work in conjunction with the field, communications, data, and digital departments to ensure compliance with voting laws and maximize voter turnout.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand and implement all federal, state, and local election laws
  • Supervise voter protection volunteers
  • Coordinate a poll observer program, including recruitment, volunteer management, and training
  • Conduct staff and volunteer trainings on best practices for voter registration, early voting, and other voter outreach
  • Communicate with local elections administrators, county party leadership, and other political outreach as necessary
  • Work with other departments to maximize voter contact and turnout
  • Oversee all poll observer credentialing
  • Plan and lead a legal boiler room and voter protection hotline

Skills & Qualifications:

  • At least one cycle of campaign organizing experience, with legal and political experience highly preferred
  • Exceptionally well organized with intense attention to detail
  • Experience on a voter protection team highly preferred
  • Excellent written and communications skills
  • Experience managing volunteers
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
  • Excellent time management skills, with experience in tight deadlines, long hours, and the ability to work well and remain calm under pressure

Field Organizer   

Reports to: Regional Organizing Director

Salary: Salary commensurate with experience, generous benefits package

Start date: Rolling starting in March 2018

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work to elect Tammy Baldwin and all Democrats up and down the ticket.
  • Responsible for executing the 2018 statewide organizing and outreach program across Wisconsin.
  • Work to build local grassroots teams that will then engage in direct voter contact, volunteer recruitment and retention, and creating a strong progressive presence in their communities.
  • Implement grassroot field tactics, including managing and executing effective activities, such as phone banks, and canvasses.  
  • Work to develop strong relationships with local stakeholders and constituency groups, including county party leaders and members, local grassroots organizations and activists, and partner and ally groups.
  • Help to build the local infrastructure necessary for success in the 2018 spring elections, November 6general elections, and beyond.
  • Other duties as assigned.  

Qualifications:

  • Applicants should be exceptionally organized, willing to take initiative, adaptable, and able to hit all deadlines and all goals as assigned.
  • A desire to fight for Democratic values and candidates.
  • Previous organizing experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work long days with irregular hours while maintaining a positive, energetic attitude.
  • Applicant should have access to a vehicle and be willing to travel frequently.  
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills are a must.
