For the first time in the history of the
Democratic Party of Wisconsin, a caucus has
been formed to represent the views and concerns
of the Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, and Transgender
community in Wisconsin. This
caucus is open to any Democratic Party member,
regardless of sexual orientation, that
maintains a concern and presents a witness to
the many socio-political issues and actions
that concern the LGBT community. At the
forefront of these issues is the state
constitutional amendment banning civil unions
and same sex marriage. At the
State Convention of the Democratic Party of
Wisconsin the DPW passed a resolution making it
the first state party in the nation to
officially oppose such an amendment.
