Ryan Braun and Collective Bargaining

As Braun's victory displays in dramatic fashion, collective bargaining is not merely about wages and benefits, it is the foundation for basic dignity in a workplace, and it radiates outward to all workplaces, whether it be a major league dugout or a welding shop, whether it's a police precinct or a classroom.

Walker and his anti-union defenders who scorn collective bargaining must think that a millionaire ballplayer is not a sympathetic figure to people who work for a living. But that's just not the case. Wisconsin understands that that standing together makes us stronger.

Rep. Richards: GOP Again Rebuffs Judicial Request for Open and Transparent Redistricting

Posted 10:18AM on February 23 2012 by Rep. Jon Richards | User Comments (4) Categories: Scott Walker | Tags: Redistricting

The disrespect Republicans have shown the court -- and the people of Wisconsin -- in this redistricting process has drawn harsh rebukes out of a normally reserved and measured panel of judges. The panel, primarily appointed by Republican presidents, called the Republican actions a ‘shameful attempt to hide the redistricting process from public scrutiny.’

Komen Board's Wisdom Lost on Scott Walker

When the leading fundraiser for breast cancer research attempts to quietly sever its successful partnership with the most prominent women's health care provider in the country, something's got to give.

And when an embattled Midwestern governor, facing a recall effort by 1 million citizens, puts access to women's health clinics and life-saving cancer screenings in jeopardy you would think something's got to give then, too.

Executives at the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation accepted responsibility for their mistake and reversed their decision. In stark contrast, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker has been deaf to the same public outrage sparked by using women's health as a pawn in the far-right's long-standing feud with Planned Parenthood.

Weekly Democratic Address: Support our Workers by Investing in Education and Job Training

Posted 15:28PM on February 02 2012 by Rep. Fred Clark | User Comments (1) Categories: Recall HQ, Scott Walker | Tags: Recall scott walker, Rep. fred clark, Scott walker, Weekly democratic address

As students return for the start of second semester college classes in Wisconsin, they are already experiencing the effects of Gov. Walker’s damaging cuts to our universities and technical colleges. College students and their families are right to question why it makes sense to slash education budgets while spending lavishly on special interests and wealthy corporations.

Governor Walker’s talk about job training rings very hollow after he made more than $70 million in cuts to job training programs through our technical colleges. Any economist will tell you that in a time of economic turmoil and high unemployment, investing in job training is more important than ever. The governor’s decision could not have been worse timing for thousands of displaced Wisconsin workers.

Reveal Walker's Secret Email Network

It's time for Scott Walker to come clean with Wisconsinites about his criminal path to power.

On Thursday, prosecutors brought more charges against top Scott Walker aides as part of an ongoing criminal corruption probe into his administration that has now led to several arrests and fifteen felony charges.

The new criminal complaints reveal a "secret email network" set up just twenty-five feet from Scott Walker's office to systematically avoid open records requests and illegally campaign and raise cash on taxpayer time.
