Today, the Government Accountability Board certified our signatures and set June 5 as the recall election date. This election will be the first major battleground of the 2012 cycle, and what happens in Wisconsin has major implications for the direction of both Wisconsin and our great nation.

It is in Wisconsin where we will decide if the halls of power are to be forever hijacked by extreme Tea Party politicians and their powerful special interests or if our democracy is still open to ordinary, hardworking people.

Our strategy is different from Scott Walker's. We don't have wealthy billionaires like Charles and David Koch donating unlimited sums of money to our campaign. We have something more powerful. We have you.

That's why I'm excited to invite you to our nationwide day of unity to defeat Scott Walker on April 4th at 6:00 PM CST. 

Earlier today, along with our partners in the grassroots, we announced something truly amazing: In just one month, in just 30 days, in less than half the time granted, your strength and determination has helped us collect more than 507,000 signatures to recall Scott Walker. We are now well on our way to beating our internal goal of collecting more than 720,000 signatures!

After weeks of discussion and positive collaboration with grassroots activists like you, today comes an historic announcement.

In just a few hours, I will go live on The Ed Shultz Show at 9:00 CST to announce that, in collaboration with United Wisconsin, the grassroots effort to recall Scott Walker will begin Nov.15th.
