Channel 3000, Madison: Tweet By Walker Campaign Staffer Draws Fire, Democrats Call Video Racially Insensitive
MADISON, Wis. -- Republican candidate for governor Scott Walker's communication director forwarded a message on Twitter with a link to a video that Democrats are calling racially insensitive.
On Monday, Walker's communication director, Jill Bader, tweeted a message called "Barack Obama's response to NoTrain.com" that linked to a video clip from the "Soul Train" television series.
The message had been forwarded by another Walker staffer.
On Tuesday, Walker's campaign refused on-camera or phone interviews.
Democrats are blasting the Twitter post as racially motivated.
"At the very least it was distasteful and disrespectful, and (we heard) nothing, nothing from (Milwaukee) County Executive Scott Walker," said Sen. Lena Taylor, D-Milwaukee.
