"The Wisconsin Takeover of the World"
Something in the paper yesterday really scared me -- Mitt Romney’s choice of Paul Ryan as his running mate was referred to as part of the “Wisconsin takeover of the world.”
With the current batch of Tea Party extremists in control, Republicans have run so far to the right that Ronald Reagan would have to be a Democrat again. And Wisconsin Republicans like Paul Ryan, Scott Walker and Sean Duffy have been leading the charge.
A plan to turn Medicare into an unsustainable voucher program. The biggest cuts to education in our state’s history, coupled with an attack on workers’ rights and a massive corporate tax giveaway. Completely un-ironic whining that a $174,000 taxpayer-funded salary isn’t enough, while voting to raise taxes on working families who make a third of that amount.
Wisconsin Republicans are leading the charge to destroy the middle-class – these can’t be the guys who takeover the world: Add your name to our petition and tell the rest of the world that Wisconsin stands for the middle-class, not against it.
They might be getting started a day late due to a rain delay, but this week, Republicans will gather for their national convention, and Ryan, Walker and Duffy are all featured prominently. We know them all too well, but for many Americans, this will be the first peek at what Wisconsin has to offer the political conversation.
We have to speak out and let people know that attacking working families is not a Wisconsin value. Sign our petition today and tell the rest of the world that Wisconsin stands for the middle-class, not against it.
