Last month, State Senator Leah Vukmir rubbed elbows with lobbyists and long-time beltway insiders. Today, D.C. Leah is back in Washington at the office of lobbying firm BGR Group grabbing more dollars from Washington power players.

This evening, Vukmir, along with several Wisconsin Republicans, will take part in a "Republican Party of Wisconsin Reception" - an event with donation levels up to $5,000. The visit comes as Vukmir pushes harmful legislation to repeal the minimum markup law. The law has drawn unified opposition from agriculture, business, and tourism interests. In fact, the only interest in favor of the bill was superstore chain Wal-Mart.

"D.C. Leah is going above and beyond to show her interests lie with powerful D.C. special interests by making fundraising trips to beltway for the second time in two months," Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesperson Brandon Weathersby said on Wednesday. "She's gone all-in on courting support from the Washington establishment and has completely forgotten about her constituents and the state of Wisconsin."
