Following is the statement of Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate in response to a new million-dollar TV ad purchased to defend Scott Walker's $2.6 billion cuts to education.

MADISON – After reports that an estimated 65,000 Wisconsinites, about half of them children, stand to lose healthcare coverage under Scott Walker’s disastrous cuts to Medicare and Medicaid, yet another morally repugnant example of Walker’s misplaced priorities has emerged as the Department of Justice braced statewide service providers for a 42.5% cut to the Sexual Assault Victim Services program.

MADISON – Despite his hypocritical vote to repeal the successful Affordable Care Act and his hyper-partisan allegiance to Paul Ryan’s disastrous budget that privatizes Medicare and slashes Medicaid while preserving corporate giveaways, “Struggling” Sean Duffy is now trying making the case that he is against reforms that contain costs and encourage efficiencies in the same Medicare programs whose end he sought.

While Scott Walker was patting himself on the back over supposed job gains this summer in the face of Senate recalls, a new report shows he was using figures his own administration found “very questionable” and even “suspect."

MADISON – Despite being a vocal critic of President Obama’s successful stimulus bill, Tommy Thompson will today announce his candidacy for the U.S. Senate at a company that directly benefited from the stimulus package, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
