WisDems: Dirty Politics

MADISON - The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel yesterday featured a questionable, far-fetched claim by two doctors from Eau Claire, Wisconsin.  The he-said, she-said story includes several holes in both Dr. Michael Smith’s and an unnamed doctor’s attack on Third District Congressman Ron Kind.  A spokesperson for the conservative pharma-funded 60 Plus Association, which ran $600,000 worth of ads against Ron Kind this cycle, Dr. Michael Smith has donated and held fundraisers for Kind’s opponent, Dan Kapanke.

Which Came First, the Special Interests' Money or Wanggaard's Promise to Support Their Agenda?

Racine - Campaign finance reports filed this week with the state Government Accountability Board reveal out-of-state millionaires, banking, insurance and other business interests along with political action committees (PACs) and special interests are filling Van Wanggaard's State Senate campaign coffers.  In fact, a shocking 91% of Wanggaard's reported contributions from September and October are either from outside of Racine County or attributable to these special interest groups.

Has 5th Assembly District Candidate Jim Steineke Broken the Law Again?

MADISON – Assembly candidate for the 5th district, Jim Steineke, appears to have broken Wisconsin state law yet again.  Assembly Democratic Campaign Committee Director Nicholl Caruso filed two complaints against Steineke with the Government Accountability Board yesterday after discovering potential violations in Steinke’s recently filed campaign finance report.
