John McCain and Sarah Palin Promise More of the Same
Failed Bush Policies Wisconsin Families Can’t Afford

MADISON – Fresh off a convention that lacked new ideas, John McCain and Sarah Palin are now promising Wisconsin families more of the same failed Bush policies that have wrecked havoc on our economy, made health care less affordable, and made our country less safe.

“John McCain and Sarah Palin haven’t offered any new solutions to the issues that Wisconsin families care about,” said Joe Wineke, Chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. “If they think the voters of Wisconsin are going to reward their old Bush policies with a new Bush term, they are greatly mistaken.”

John McCain, Sarah Palin, and the Republicans have spent the past week sarcastically attacking Barack Obama’s plan to change America, while offering no new solutions to fix an economy that is in turmoil after eight years of disastrous Bush policies.

Barack Obama has a plan to cut taxes for 95 percent of all working families, provide affordable health care to every American, end the tax breaks for companies that ship our jobs overseas, and eliminate the oil we import from the Middle East in 10 years.

Meanwhile, John McCain has voted with George Bush 90 percent of the time, run a Karl Rove campaign, and has let lobbyists and special interests control his “reform” agenda.

For eight years, Republicans have controlled Washington, brought us an endless war in Iraq, $4 a gallon gas prices, a housing and credit crisis, and companies getting big tax breaks to move American jobs overseas. John McCain and Sarah Palin are promising nothing more than more of the same.

“If John McCain and Sarah Palin want to define ‘change’ as voting with George Bush 90 percent of the time, and want to define ‘reform’ as running a Karl Rove campaign, that’s their choice,” Wineke said. “But that’s not the change we need, and that’s not the change Wisconsin voters will vote for this November.”
