Voters Reject Cowles Attack on Working Families
Volunteers to File Recall Petitions Against Senator Cowles
MADISON - Today, grassroots volunteers from the second State Senate district will deliver more than enough signatures to trigger a recall election against State Senator Robert Cowles.
Voters joined together across the second State Senate District to rebuke Scott Walker’s extreme power grab and Senator Cowles’ blind obedience to Madison party leaders. Cowles own legislative website claims he has "worked hard to represent the interests of the Second Senate District," but clearly he has forgotten who he represents.
The efforts to recall Senator Cowles gathered more than 26,000 signatures; an astounding 10,000 more than required to recall the state Senator.
"Robert Cowles sided with Scott Walker and the wealthy elite rather than the working families of Wisconsin’s second State Senate district. Now, Wisconsin voters can make their voices heard,” Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate said Thursday.
