MADISON -- Following is the statement of Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate following the two-year prison sentence handed down to longtime Scott Walker aide Tim Russell today.

"It is unclear whether it was Scott Walker who taught Tim Russell or Tim Russell who taught Scott Walker.

"Whatever the case, the partners in crime built a political operation that was predicated on unethical acts.

"That ethic, where the rules don't matter and neither do the people, has continued into his current administration, where Walker's political fortune has become more important than creating jobs, or educating kids, or reducing our budget deficit.

"Both Tim Russell and Scott Walker have been practicing dirty tricks together for a long time. Today, for the good of the people of Wisconsin, one of them goes to prison."
