It looks like Senator Johnson found the perfect halloween costume...a mad scientist. He spent the week throwing mud at Russ after an angry interview with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and now he’s dusted off his old University of Minnesota textbooks to explain why global warming is no big deal.
On Monday Senator Johnson tried to argue that the “jury is still out” on whether humans impact the climate. Either way though, Johnson added, it doesn’t matter because people like warm weather. The reaction from Wisconsinites who are rightly worried about the impact of climate change was swift. So what did Senator Johnson do? He doubled down of course.
In an interview on WTMJ on Wednesday, Senator Johnson angrily claimed that there’s no proof humans can have an impact on climate change. Despite what 97% of scientists might say, Senator Johnson won't let facts get in the way of his fiction. His spooky logic behind the absurd claims? The ice age had ended when there were few humans, and temperatures were hotter in Ancient Rome. You can’t make this stuff up. You can listen here.
